Liquefied Biomethane

Liquefied biomethane (LBM) is a promising biofuel derived from organic waste sources such as agricultural residue, landfill gas, and wastewater treatment plants. Through a process called anaerobic digestion, organic matter is broken down by bacteria, producing methane gas, which can then be purified and liquefied for use as a transportation fuel.

LBM offers several environmental benefits, including reduced greenhouse gas emissions compared to traditional fossil fuels, as it utilizes waste materials that would otherwise emit methane, a potent greenhouse gas, into the atmosphere. Additionally, it helps in waste management by repurposing organic waste streams.As a renewable energy source, liquefied biomethane contributes to diversifying the energy mix and reducing dependence on finite fossil fuels. Its potential as a sustainable alternative fuel for vehicles holds promise for mitigating climate change and fostering a greener future in the transportation sector.
