Title : Bioenergy and its applications as a tool for energy transition: Power generation and efficiency
Abstract:
The world is undergoing a significant energy transition, driven by the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate climate change. Bioenergy, derived from organic matter, has emerged as a promising renewable energy source. We reviews the current state of bioenergy and its applications in power generation, highlighting its potential to contribute to a low-carbon energy mix. We discuss the various types of bioenergy, including biomass, biogas, and biofuels, and their production processes. Also examines the efficiency of bioenergy systems, including power generation, heat production, and combined heat and power (CHP) systems. Furthermore, we explore the challenges and opportunities associated with large-scale bioenergy deployment, including land use, water usage, and food security concerns. Finally, we discuss the role of bioenergy in the energy transition, including its potential to support rural development and reduce energy poverty. Our analysis suggests that bioenergy can play a significant role in the transition to a low-carbon economy, but its development must be carefully managed to ensure sustainability and minimize environmental impacts.
