Biography:
For the past two decades, Dr. Lucio Zaccariello has focused his research on the development and optimization of thermochemical processes for converting biomass and waste into biofuels and biochemicals. His work has mainly addressed the technical aspects of fluidized- bed gasifiers using various feedstocks. In particular, he has studied issues related to the design of both the reactor and the producer gas cleaning section, as well as aspects concerning energy production from the gasification of biomass and waste. His current work centres on the production of hydrogen from sewage sludge gasification and the development of selective carbonization reactors to obtain high-value-added carbonaceous materials.
