Title : Determinants of biofuel deployment and its implications on environment and economic growth
Abstract:
Transport is highly instrumental for mobility, while it is also a significant contributor to carbon emissions. This paper investigates biofuel adoption in major countries such as the United States, Norway, China, the UK, and Europe, India, along with 25 countries that deployed biofuels. The research aims to examine the role of R&D, sources of finance, socio-economic and political factors, and the policy regime, such as tariffs, in biofuel deployment. Secondly, considering these factors as determinants of biofuel deployment, the paper attempts to study the impact of biofuel deployment on the environment, employment and income. The two-fold objectives will be tested for 2013 to 2021 by deploying a cross-section regression analysis and Engle-Granger causality test.
